Bubble Bum - Booster Seat v2

The BubbleBum is an ingenious, cost-effective inflatable booster seat, safety approved for Groups 2-3 (over 4 and under 12 year olds). This portable booster seat easily deflates and folds flat for carrying in rucksacks or handbags, which makes it brilliant as a travel car seat for holidays, play dates, relatives, taxis and rental cars.

UK law car seat safety rules state that every child under 12 and shorter than 135cms, must travel with a safe car seat or car booster seat. Yet in spite of this many families still find themselves without bulky car booster seats in taxis, on coaches or on holiday, simply because they aren’t able to carry them.

Irish entrepreneur and mother of two, Grainne Kelly has created a solution with the innovative Bubblebum. This light-weight, brightly coloured booster seat is inflatable and therefore easily portable.

As well as adhering to the booster seat rules, this travel booster seat is much more comfy for little bottoms than the rigid ones on the market. It is easily inflated and held securely in place with the seatbelt restraints, ensuring that the belt is in position across the child’s lap, meeting the current United Nations Regulations. Weighing less than half a kilo, it fits comfortably into hand luggage making it ideal as a hire car booster seat.

We have discovered that small children tend to put the shoulder section of the vehicle seat belt under the arm or behind their back; this is VERY Dangerous.

We have included in our V2 product a shoulder belt positioning clip which holds the belt against the child's shoulder and away from the neck reducing any discomfort the child may feel on their neck. While this is for comfort only, it reduces the potential for misuse of the vehicle seat belt and we recommend that it is used with smaller children who find that the seat belt causes discomfort.

Even though your child will be safer on a BubbleBum than using a vehicle seat belt alone, we recommend that you keep your child in a 5 point harness seat as long as possible.
